The Sudden Sunlight Must Be Frying My Brain ...

Why you ask? Well, I was at Target today when I walked past a display showing off a woman's nemesis. What could that be, you ask? Chocolate? Maternity clothes? Um ... Monastat? Nooooooope. Oh no ho ho ... Swimming Suits. I don't know about you, but these two words invoke fear into my very being. There's something awful about sliding one's VERY white, soft Seattle body into slippery, skin-tight or skin-hugging (depending on your style), somewhat revealing (again, depending on your style) material. You copy? I'm sure you do. If not, the sudden sunlight must be getting to you too. Now that I've gotten that off my chest, which one do you like? I guess paisley must be in. Who knew??? And to inspire comments, do you prefer one-piecers, tankinis, or bikinis? :)

I have never tried a tankini, but want to. I dread the whole swimming suit shopping....

I prefer the tankini too. However, if you are planning any serious swimming, tankini will not do. I'd just go and get a one piece Speedo at Costco instead.

I like the second suit in your line-up. The first one is cute, too, though.

I definitely prefer the tankini thing! Way more comfortable! I hear you on the white body thing!

Both are very cute! I personally prefer a tankini for fit and convience. Depending on where you shop you can mix and match the top and bottom pattern and sizes to fit you, but the tankini doesn't usually offer much in the way of slimming tummy panels etc.(much needed for me this year!) In a tankini you don't have to get completely naked to use the bathroom. Too much info? Sorry! Isn't shopping for a suit just awful!

I prefer black! I don't know if I will ever own a swimming suit in any other color again.

All I have to say is that I laughed my head off when I read this post! You have posted what every woman is thinking! Love ya sis.

I tried on some tankinis last time I was shopping for a suit and they were horrible on me. Talk about emphasizing the post-baby muffin belly. I used to just do the board shorts over my suit thing, but last year I bought a cute "swim dress" from JC Penney. I thought it would be grandma-ish, but it's comfy. So I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to suits.

So I am trying to make t similar decision. We are going on a beach vacation in April, and I have spent much too much time trying to find a suitable suit. And I have only been looking online--I am still gearing up to go and actually try them on! Both suits you pictured are cute, but I am kind of leaning toward the one-piece. I have been wearing a tankini for so long that a one-piece seems kind of fun, feminine and retro (although MUCH less convenient)!

I like both, but I would lean towards the tankini. Also, I think the pink would be more flattering on you than the white without having much sun on the skin :) I just bought a really cute tankini from modbe. You should take a look there, too!

AMEN. I just avoid them completely.
